Mounted parts are assembled, while unmounted are separated from any machine or installation.
When talking about mounted or unmounted parts, we refer to whether they're assembled to the machine they belong to (mounted) when the part search takes place. Sometimes, the part has already been disassembled or is available independently from where it will be used. In this second case, we refer to them as unmounted parts.
