How different global players can make the most out of their EAM

Written by Partium | Feb 12, 2021 12:28:22 PM

Running and maintaining industrial plants was never a trivial task. In recent years it has only become more challenging. Many companies, therefore, rely on EAM systems to make their tasks and overall processes easier.
We did some research on how different global players benefit from the use of an EAM solution:

CHS, Inc – IBM Maximo

CHS is a global agribusiness focusing on energy, agronomy, grains, and foods. The company is owned by farmers and local cooperatives across the United States and employs about 11,000 dedicated people worldwide. CHS decided to introduce IBM Maximo to change their asset maintenance from preventive to predictive successfully.
In the past, CHS had to rely on time-based maintenance work, whereas the cloud and IoT trends allow them to analyze, react to and predict asset maintenance measures in real-time. John Meyers of CHS, Inc states in an interview that he appreciates the power, security, and flexibility of IBM Maximo and the easy configuration and customizing options. RestAPI technology makes it easier to move data between different systems.

Chief Industries – IFS

Chief Industries, Inc deals with construction and development, agriculture, ethanol, trucking, metal fabrication, housing, and electrical, and uses an IFS EAM for more than ten years. IFS helps them to maintain high levels of customer service in a dynamic marketplace.
As major benefits Chief Industries names flexibility, such as making modifications to fit the business quickly and easily, fast reaction to customer demands, all data stored in one place, quick access to critical business data, and real-time information.

Cofran Group – infor

The Cofran group was founded in Brazil and manufactured and sells automotive parts. They decided to introduce the infor EAM system to integrate operations at four manufacturing plants and increase their sales processes’ efficiency by establishing better access to order information and customer history.
Cofran Group appreciates the easy decision-making processes based on correct live data, which improves their service delivery.

As we can see based on the different customer success stories, EAM systems are great to accelerate processes, prevent downtimes, and maintain or even increase customer service. But most of them are not designed with mobile in mind.

The limitations of EAM systems on mobile devices are among the many reasons that lead us to develop Partium. Partium is not a replacement for an EAM – it is an extension of it. With Partium, technicians can identify parts within seconds, search through EAM systems, BoM, external data, internal data, and even suggest updates to help themselves in the future. It also allows for system updates to keep the infor¬mation as up-to-date and relevant to the user as possible.

The value of Partium stems from the combined powers of an EAM system and a flexible mobile frontend with enhanced search and collaboration capabilities.
